A large free dental health camp was held at Padmodaya Secondary School, 655 people received health services

Kathmandu Rajan Thapa With the aim of increasing health awareness in the society and providing quality health services to the community, a large free dental health camp was held at Padmodaya Secondary School today in collaboration with the Civil Society for Social Transformation and Om Samaj Dental Hospital.
A total of 655 students, teachers and staff studying from nursery to grade 10, underwent dental check-ups in the camp. After a team of specialist doctors reached the school premises and provided services, students, parents and the school family expressed their happiness.
At the program, school principal Sharmila Pokharel expressed her belief that such public welfare programs would increase health awareness among students and inspire social organizations to become more service-oriented. She also expressed her gratitude to the organizers for reaching the school and providing services.
Om Samaj Dental Hospital board member and social activist Rajan Thapa said that health service is the basic right of every citizen and no one should be deprived of treatment just because of their poor financial condition. He expressed his commitment to make community-centered free health awareness and health camps more widespread in the coming days.
A team of Dr. Sima Yadav, Dr. Sofia Raut, Dr. Subhka Rai and health volunteer Junu Pandit conducted dental checkups in the camp. The program was organized by Dhan Ghimire, while driver Ramesh also actively supported the program.
Program coordinator and President of Civil Society for Social Transformation, Yama Bahadur G.C., drew the attention of the concerned bodies, saying that it is a sad issue that community school students are still deprived of basic health services.
He said,
“Education and health should be the first priority of the state. But even today, many community school students are far from even getting a general health checkup. We are not in favor of just waiting for change by giving speeches, we are on a campaign to change society by providing direct services. The situation in which civil society and social organizations should take the lead in the work that the state should do is a matter of concern. Now, we will further strengthen the campaign to ensure that no student is deprived of health services by conducting health camps in all community schools of Bagmati Province.”
He said that the organization collaborated with Om Samaj Dental Hospital due to its experienced medical team, successful treatment services, and dedication to the community, and informed that public service-oriented programs will be jointly conducted in the coming days as well.
Meanwhile, it has also been informed that arrangements have been made to provide a 20 percent discount to the advisory committee of the Civil Society for Social Transformation, honorary members, life members, ordinary members, well-wishers, and all blood donor volunteers when receiving treatment at Om Samaj Dental Hospital.
Participants said that the camp, which was held with the aim of spreading health awareness in the community, protecting the smiles of students, and putting the spirit of service into practice, presented an excellent example of social responsibility and humanitarian service.
