Om Samaj Dental Tripartite Agreement Skills, Self-Employment and Service Together: Temple Ganesh Club’s Exemplary Program

Lions Club of Kathmandu Temple Ganesh has taken exemplary initiatives in all three areas of women empowerment, environmental protection and health care. The “Seven-day Skill-Based Training on Making Eco-Friendly Cloth Bags as an Alternative to Plastic Bags” and certificate distribution program organized by the club at Kageshwori Manohara-4, Brahmakhel was concluded grandly on Sunday.
16 female trainees participated in the training conducted under the active initiative of club president Lion Trishna Thapa, founding president Lion Bina Thapa and treasurer and trainer Lion Mridula Sharma.
The objective of the training was to make women self-employed and reduce the use of plastic.
“Home-One Plant” Campaign and Social Partnership
On the occasion of the program, fruit saplings were distributed to the members of “Naya Paila Samaj Nepal”, which has further strengthened the “Home-One Plant” campaign.
Similarly, a tripartite agreement (MOU) was signed between the Lions Club of Kathmandu Temple Ganesh, Naya Paila Samaj Nepal, and Om Samaj Dental Hospital Banasthali Branch.
According to the agreement, members of Naya Paila Samaj Nepal will get free dental check-ups and 15-20% discount on treatment at Om Hospital.
The program was attended by the chief guest District Chief Advisor Lion Bishnu Bhandari, special guest Women Empowerment Chief Lion Anuj Kumar Shrestha, Region Chairperson Lion Mina Bhattachan, District Coordinator Lion Anita Thapa Bista, District Ambassador Lion Sonu Lama and many Lion leaders.
Special guest Lion Anuj Shrestha called upon the trainees to transform the training into a business and become self-reliant.
Founder President Lion Bina Thapa pledged to “bring more effective training as per community demand.” Certificates were distributed to the trainees who completed the training by the chief guest Lion Bishnu Bhandari and Founder President Lion Bina Thapa.
At the end of the program, Club President Lion Trishna Thapa expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the participants, guests and the entire Lions family and expressed her commitment to continue such programs in the coming days.
Through the seven-day training, distribution of saplings, health pacts and distribution of certificates, Temple Ganesh Club has presented an example of an integrated and sustainable social service program – where skills, self-employment and service are promoted together.
